Surge 10K electric bike is being manufactured by Emote Electric. Surge geared electric bike was first showcased at Auto Expo 2020. Surge 10K electric bike has a unique boxy look. Surge is India’s first geared electric bike. It is loaded with useful features. We strongly recommend this bike.

• A strong trellis frame. The bike frame is made using metal tubes. These tubes are arranged in triangulated reinforcement. Trellis frame uses lattice girder principle. The frame of the Surge 10K electric bike is light in weight. It has a high strength-to-weight ratio. It works like the chassis of the bike.
• Surge electric bikes will be marketed in two variants. These are Surge 10K and Surge 6k. Surge 10K will have more power and a higher range. It will cost more. Its launch has been delayed by the corona pandemic.
• The power-train of Surge 10K produces a peak torque of 28Nm at 2800 rpm.
• The electric motor of Surge will come mated with a four-speed transmission.
• The top speed of Surge 10K is 120 Km per hour.
• It will be powered by a lithium-ion battery. Battery capacity is 77.7 Volts, 40 Ah.

The price of the Surge 10K electric bike is Rs 1, 50, 000. The manufacturer has not yet announced the exact price. Surge 6K price is likely to be Rs 1, 30, 000.

The range of the Surge 10K electric bike is 450 Kms on 3 battery packs. Surge 6K also gives the same range. If your Surge bike has only one battery the range will reduce accordingly.

Gear of Surge 10K

Surge electric bikes are the first ones to have gears. The gearbox consists of a 4-speed wide-ratio transmission. It has a semi-automatic drive mode. The drive modes are Distance, Balanced, and Performance. In addition, there is a Reverse mode also.

Drive modes of Surge bikes set the acceleration and power level of the electric bike. The drive modes affect the range and performance of the electric bike. For example, Distance bias mode will give you a higher range. But acceleration may be lower. Performance bias mode will give higher acceleration and speed but a lower range.

Answer – Manufacturer claims that the cost of running a Surge bike is 10 times cheaper than a petrol bike.

Answer – Yes

Question 4 – Can the Surge 10K and Surge 6K be purchased on Subscription?

Answer – There is no Subscription system for buying the bike. However, there is a subscription for services like 4G data link, navigation queries and server charges, etc.

Question 5 – What is the charging time of the bike battery?

Answer – The charger supplied with the bike can charge the battery in 3.5 to 4 hours. A high-power home charger (optional item) can charge the battery in 1.5 hours.

Question 6 – Can I charge the battery using a normal socket at my home and office?

Answer – Yes. The manufacturer recommends the use of a 15-ampere socket for charging the battery at home.

Question 7 – Can all 3 batteries be put together in the Surge 10K bike?

Answer – Yes. All 3 batteries can be put together in the battery compartment. They can also be charged together

Question 8 – Why there are three drive modes?

Answer – Drive modes of Surge bikes set the acceleration and power level of the electric bike. If your bike is on Performance bias mode you will get higher acceleration and speed, but a lower range. If you run your bike on Distance bias mode you will get a higher range but with reduced acceleration.

Question 9 –Do Surge bikes need maintenance?

Answer – All machines need maintenance. But Surge electric bikes need much less maintenance than petrol bikes. There is no oil change and filter change etc.
