Pure EV ETrance Neo electric scooter price, specifications, and review
Pure Energy is a Hyderabad-based company. Its electric vehicle factory is located near IIT, Hyderabad. Pure Energy stands for Power Using Renewable Energy. It is an IIT Hyderabad incubated startup. The company has launched a new electric scooter named ETrance Neo.
Pure EV can manufacture 2000 electric scooters per month. The company also produces batteries used in ETrance Neo. The company is expanding its manufacturing capacity to enhance the production of electric scooters and battery packs.
Pure EV has a good dealership network in 20 states in India. Pure EV launched ETrance Neo electric scooter in December 2020. Following are brief features of this scooter:-

ETrance Neo Review by EV Funda
- ETrance Neo is an updated version of ETrance+
- The battery capacity has been upgraded. The battery capacity of 2.5 kWh is good. It will increase the mileage and reduce range anxiety.
- The Brake system has also been improved. The motor is also more powerful.
- The front brake is disc type. So brake efficiency is good.
- The looks of ETrance Neo electric scooter are good and are similar to Honda Activa scooty.
- Most body panels of ETrance Neo are made of fiber plastic. The mudguards are made of metal alloy.
- Foor rest and support structure is of metal
- The seat is a bit small for two people to ride the scooter. A grab rail has been provided at the back of the seat, for the pillion rider.
- Footboard space is also less for people above 5 feet 6 inches in height. It is ok for people with medium height and below.
- You will require a driving license and registration for ETrance Neo as its top speed is 60 Km per hour.
- As per the manufacturer, the maximum range is 120 Km. But in city driving conditions, with two people riding the scooter, the range is likely to be around 90 Km.
- The battery is detachable. So you can conveniently take it out and charge inside your home or office.
- The battery and MCB are placed under the seat.
- An external charging point is also provided. So it is not essential to remove the battery for charging.
- The Instrument Panel is LED type. The visibility of readings is good.
- When you switch on the scooter, by default the scooter remains in Park Mode. You need to press the green P Button under right-hand grip. Then the scooter comes in active mode.
- The Instrument panel shows Speed, Battery Charge State, Odometer, and Drive Modes (Mode 1, Mode 2, and Mode 3).
- The range is the maximum in Mode 1 (around 120 Km). In Mode 2 the range is 100 Km. In Mode 3 the range is 90 Km. Even then the range of 90 Km is good for an electric scooter.
- Range also depends on factors like the speed of the scooter, load on the scooter, road condition and your driving style.
- Suspension is satisfactory.
- There are no smart features in the Pure EV ETrance Neo electric scooter. This is a serious drawback. Buy paying a little extra amount there are other options available in the market.
- All the space under the seat is taken up by the battery. So there is no boot space to store anything else.
- Its acceleration is quicker than a 125 CC petrol engine scooter. So till you get the hang, you need to be careful.

- Overall performance of Pure EV ETrance Neo electric scooter is satisfactory.
- Almost 80% of components have been made in India. This is a good point. Though Motor Controller is still being imported. Its indigenization is in progress.
- Battery Warranty of only 3 years is a little less. Only one year warranty on the scooter is very low.
- There are no smart features in this scooter.
- However, if you do not want to spend more, this scooter is a good buy.
