BGauss B8 electric scooter was launched in India in 2020. BGauss Electric is a subsidiary of Mumbai-based RR Global. The manufacturing and assembly of electric scooters have already begun at the BGauss plant in Chakan, Pune.

BGauss is being positioned as a stylish and premium scooter at an affordable price. BGauss has been designed for use in cities and small towns. It has a fluid design with a powerful motor. It offers quick charging and low maintenance.

BGauss comes in two variants. These are BGauss B8 and BGauss A2. These electric scooters are sold in four colors – Silk Red, Sparkling Blue, Nebula Grey, and Pearl White. BGauss B8 is being offered in three variants – With lead-acid battery, With Lithium battery, With Li Technology. The on-road price of B8 with a lead-acid battery is around Rs 69, 300. The on-road price of B8 with a lithium-ion battery is around Rs 89, 700. The on-road price of B8 with LI Technology (top variant) is around Rs 96, 900.

Reverse Mode– It is a useful feature when you want to drive backward, for parking. With the press of a button, the scooter goes into reverse mode. The scooter moves in reverse at the speed of 2 Km per hour.
Water wading – Bgauss can drive through 120 mm deep water. It’s electric motor is waterproof.
Wheel Size and Tyre – The wheel size is 10 inches and is made of alloy. The scooter has tubeless tyres.

Our review of BGauss B8 electric scooter

It is lightweight. So easy handling for women and schoolgoing people.
The height of the scooter is less. It is a plus point for people whose height is 5.6 feet or lower. The low height of the scooter is uncomfortable for taller people.
The scooter looks stylish and comes in attractive colors.
The power of the electric motor is just sufficient. We would have preferred a motor of at least 2.5 KW.
The Lithium-Ion battery charges fairly quickly. But the lead-acid battery charging time is high.
If you buy the lead-acid battery variant, then the point to remember is that this battery is not removable. You can’t take out the battery for charging in your home or office. In situ charging facility is required.
Battery capacity is also on the lower side. Both lead-acid and Lithium-Ion battery should have been of higher capacity
With a pillion rider, the mileage will reduce to near 60 Km. This our estimate.
Ground clearance is also on the lower side. So be careful while driving on rough roads.
The fiber body is not very sturdy. Better quality body panels should have been provided.
