The battery of both models is lithium-ion type. Corbett 14 has a single battery of 2.3 kWh capacity. Corbett 14-EX has a dual battery pack of 4.6 kWh capacity. The charging time is around 4 hours.

The range of the Boom Corbett 14-EX Electric Scooter is 200 Km on a fully charged battery. This is a very good range for an electric scooter. The range of Corbett 14 is 100 Km.

The top speed of Corbett 14-EX is 75 Km per hour whereas the top speed of Corbett 14 is 65 Km per hour.

EV manufacturer Boom Motors, based in Coimbatore, has launched its first electric scooter for the Indian market, the Corbett 14. The electric scooter is available in two variants, namely Corbett 14 and Corbett 14-EX. Boom Motors claims the Corbett 14 is India’s most durable and long-lasting electric scooter.

The Boom Corbett 14 is entirely built in India and was designed with Indian driving conditions in mind. Corbett 14 deviates from the traditional scooter design and features a look that is reminiscent of old-school mopeds. It has a simple design with only a few side body panels. The electric scooter features an exo-skeletal frame, made of high-tensile steel.

The electric scooter is equipped with a four-point adjustable anti-dive leading link suspension in the front and a four-point adjustable suspension in the back. It rides on 14-inch alloy wheels with tubeless 90/90 tires. Corbett 14 also features front and rear single disc brakes with CBS (Combi braking system).

Corbett 14 has a 3 kW motor and a 2.3 kWh battery, giving it a top speed of 65 Km per hour and a range of 100 km, respectively. Corbett 14 EX has a 4 kW motor and a 4.6 kWh battery, giving it a top speed of 75 Km per hour and a stated range of 200 km. In India, the 4.6 kWh battery is the largest to be found in an electric two-wheeler.

The electric scooter features an LED headlight, 30 liters of under-seat storage, and a tracking app. The app will also tell you how many trees you’ve saved, how much petrol you’ve saved, and how much CO2 you’ve decreased. In addition to these features, the app will have accident and theft detection, parental mode, and a speed indicator.

Corbett 14 is priced at Rs 86,999 whereas Corbett 14-EX is priced at Rs 1,19,999. These are both ex-showroom prices. It is an introductory price. Boom plans to raise the base variant by Rs 3,000 and the EX variant by Rs 5,000 at a later stage.

Bookings for this electric scooter have already begun online for a token amount of Rs 499. Delivery of the e-scooter will begin in January 2022.

Boom Motors is also the first EV company to provide a 5-year EMI plan of Rs 1,699 per month for its Boom Corbett electric scooter.

The Boom Corbett 14 comes with a swappable 2.3 kWh battery pack. Boom Corbett 14-EX comes equipped with two of these battery packs, providing a total capacity of 4.6kWh. The smart IoT battery is IP67 rated, which means that it is dust and water-resistant.

Charge times for batteries range between 2.5 and 4 hours depending on whether you are using the fast charger or the regular charger. Boom also includes a 3 pin portable charger that can be plugged into standard 5A household outlets.

Boom Corbett 14 has a range of 100 km, while the Boom Corbett 14-EX has a range of 200 km on a single charge. In addition, the battery is covered by a 5-year warranty.
