Speed and Mileage

• The manufacturer claims that Hero Electric Optima has a city speed of 42 Km per hour.
• Its mileage is 122 Km on a full charge, under ideal test conditions. But city driving will give lower mileage. The actual range maybe 25% lower. The range depends on the age of the battery, load on the electric scooter, road condition, condition of tyres, and your driving style.

Battery and Electric Motor of Hero Electric Optima

• This Hero electric scooter has a powerful hub motor. The motor produces a peak power of 1200 Watts.
• This Hero electric scooter has two batteries. Both are Lithium-Ion batteries. Each battery capacity is 51.2 Volts and 30 Ah.
• The battery weighs around 11 Kg. So you can lift it easily and take it inside your home for charging. The batteries can also be charged while fitted in the scooter. Before taking the battery out for charging you should put the MCB (Master Circuit Breaker) in OFF position.
• The battery box is made of fiber-reinforced plastic. This reduces the overall weight of the scooter. Both the batteries are placed under the seat.
• The batteries have quick charge capability
• Two chargers are provided with the scooter. Both the batteries can be charged in parallel.
• At a time only one battery runs the scooter. When one battery gets discharged you have to use a toggle switch to connect the scooter motor to the second battery. This toggle switch has two positions – B1 and B2, for Battery 1 and Battery 2. 53 Volts is the full charge state of the battery.
• You can remove the discharged battery and charge it in your home.
• Due to double battery, this Hero electric scooter has a range of 100 Km
• The top speed of Hero Electric Optima is 45 Kms. A higher speed will reduce the range.

• The Digital Instrument Panel and switches are of good quality
• The Digital Instrument Panel shows Speed, has an Odometer and Battery Charge State Indicator. It also shows a warning that if battery voltage drops below 45 Volts, charging is required. The battery bar in the instrument panel also starts blinking. At this stage, the electric scooter can run only 10 kilometers more. So this low battery warning is very useful.
• A USB port has been provided for mobile charging
• There is no Mode selection switch. So Hero Electric Optima always runs in Eco mode. You don’t have to bother about selecting a mode of running.
